About the Assessor
Michael Reynolds is a retired, 27-year veteran of the town of Greenwich Police Department in Greenwich, Connecticut. He spent his last eight years in law enforcement supervising the Community Impact Section which as part of their scope of duties included neighborhood security advising. In that role, he received training and achieved the title of Security and Crime Prevention Specialist.
From 2013 to 2023 he was the Director of Security for the Greenwich Country Day School, one of the largest pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade independent schools in the State of Connecticut.
Since starting MR Security Assessments, LLC in 2020, he has assisted numerous schools throughout the tri-state area as a security consultant. In July of 2023, Mr. Reynolds dedicated a fulltime effort toward helping other schools with their security efforts by performing full campus and building assessments and/or employee emergency safety training.
The Technical Stuff
A security assessment is performed to identify the current security status of the location. The assessment will provide recommendations for improvement, allowing the client to reach a security goal that mitigates risk while providing greater security from those wishing to do harm to persons and or property within. The aim will be to create a location that will deter those wishing to do harm from attempting any such act(s). Harden the target.
Our Expertise
Mr. Reynolds has conducted numerous security surveys and assessments for schools, businesses, personal residences, and neighborhoods. Other aspects of his training include Crime Prevention through Environmental Design which is defined as a multi-disciplinary approach for reducing crime through environmental design and the management and use of built environments. In short, assessing building plans, and using landscape and other neighborhood features to reduce victimization and deter crime while creating a sense of community.
